John and Katherine sat on the bench. His expressions seems to be so heavy, but she was sure that he wants to tell something very important.
“What do yo have to say?”
John was still looking somewhere else, he was in some deep thought. Suddenly he turned towards her.
“Oh, yes, I have something to tell.”
For a while there was only silence.
“Do you know anything about me, I mean why I am here, or something like that?”
“No, I didn’t thought about it.”
“Don’t you think that it is important to know?”
“No, anyway I believe that that would not be because of a bad intention.”
“But, I think it is important to tell that to you. You should know, and I think this is the best time to tell that.”
He placed his hand over her hand, and looked at her eyes. There was a break in the conversation. But, that wasn’t intentional, he managed to continue.
“We are not living in a nearby town. We wasn’t in a trip to explore this place. We are from a city in Oceania.”
“That’s a long distance. Why are you here then?”
“There is a mission to be completed.”
“Mission?! Are you a terrorist or an enemy? Tell me or I would call the guards.”
He didn’t said anything. He was still looking at her eyes, that was convincing enough to stop her. He was holding her hands, but softly. She asked softly.
“Tell me about all those secret things you are hiding.”
“I am going to tell that to you. We are here to stop the project, which we think would be a “Time Terminator”.”
“Time Terminator?!”
“Yes, it is a Polar defence project, which would have the capability of terminating the flow of time. That is in short it could bring whole of the universe into singularity, a big crunch.”
“Are you mad? Why would anyone have to make something like that?”
“I don’t know, but almost sure about it. It is going to happen, an unstoppable monster which could……”
“But, who is the brain behind that? Why Madrine approved such a mad project?”
“I don’t know anything about that, the only thing I know is that we have to stop that.”
She looked at his face for a while.
“Are you sure about this? Where did you get the information about such a confidential project?”
“Well, It was not based on conclusive evidence, we didn’t had another choice. It was only his conclusion.”
“Whose conclusion?”
“George, the man who came yesterday. When I was there in his workshop he told me about a terrifying signal that his device had detected, and shortly he concluded that it is this. Also I was thinking in a similar way due to some other reason.”
“Wait, That man? Who is he actually? He was so strange in his behavior. He was behaving to me as I am his daughter.”
“I don’t know much about his past, we are friends. And he have a workshop, he does crazy stuffs. The only thing that I know about him is that he is a good man. If he wasn’t he would not risk his life to stop it.”
“Wait, Dad said that his name is James, right?”
“That is his fake ID, he need that to stay in the lab.”
“Which lab?”
“I don’t know. Some secret lab in some undisclosed location.”
“What? You people already infiltrated one of the secret labs? Do you know what would happen if he is caught? Rest of the world will not know anything about you after that.”
“But it is far better than what would happen, isn’t it?”
“Yes, but there is something strange that you and Kevine didn’t noticed. How could he reach to this conclusion from that little information that he had obtained from the signals?”
John didn’t had an answer, he looked at the sky, clouds having different shades was moving swiftly and was making different patterns. For a moment he realized that that was what exactly happening inside him. She again started to talk.
“There is something strange about him. I am not telling that he is bad, but there is something that we still don’t know about. You did see that General was behaving so friendly to him, right? As far as I know, he didn’t behaved like that to anyone else.”
“Well, what do you mean?”
“I mean nothing. We are not clear about many thing, perhaps we are totally out of the play. Either he would be the one who actually proposed the idea, or he know about the person who proposed it. But, I think that bond is somewhat deep. But, Dad’s behavior is making a confusion. If he knew him already, now he know that he was using a false ID to enter into the laboratory.”
“What?!”
“Yes, I think that is why George behaved like a stranger to you people, at least to save you. But, there is something deep. It looks like a complicated play, sometimes General also know about you also, he may be hiding that.”
John was feeling extreme level of helplessness. He felt that everything around him was just dark.
“Don’t worry, don’t do anything in a hurry. I know your intention is good and I could promise you that I would try my maximum to save you.”
“Thanks Katherine.”
She replied only with a smile. But that was mysterious. But, he was thinking about something else without noticing that.
“Wait, do you know anything about anything secret in this compound? I mean I had see a big tower one night.”
“I had heard about it, but couldn’t see it.”
“Why?”
“I don’t know, maybe it could be a visual illusion to deviate enemy attention.”
“Oh.”
“Yes, places like these is prone to enemy areal raids. So in order to escape from that usually in night time, there would be a virtual castle around this building. Don’t know much about it. It could be real as well.”
“Is there any secret chambers or something like that here?”
“There is not much. But, I knew about one room, and only father or someone with his approval could enter that room.”
“I think we could find something from there. I mean only an expectation.”
“Do you think it is easy? It is guarded by special forces on the outer layer of security. Further you need to cross through security checks involving biometrics and pass codes.”
“How do you know about all these?”
“Actually I don’t know exactly. But the room has military grade security.”
He looked towards the building.
“Well, don’t underestimate Kevine, He is an expert in hacking such systems.”
“Really?”
“I could tell you that he is the ‘White Dwarf’.”
“Oh my God, the hacker who looted secret files about undergoing military projects from all the nations and published in an open webpage. Literally he made all those projects useless.”
“White Dwarf is with us, he have some job to do, that’s all.”
She was puzzled for a moment.
“Then why can’t he do the same thing for this also?”
“Maybe this could be extremely secret and only few people would have the information about it. And after attack by White Dwarf, they disconnected such labs from the rest of the world, as it is the best measure to prevent such attempts.”
“Let’s see what we can do.”
She looked at the building. General was walking towards them. She went towards Lucifer with a smile.
“Hey John, Good Morning. Mornings are so mysterious, Isn’t it?”
Lucifer asked John rising his hand. He could respond anything for a moment. Specially to the weird smile that decorated General’s face.
