General was quickly walking down into an underground bunker. The bunker looks very old, but the walls were made of thick iron plates. Strangely even the guards are not allowed to enter that passage. The passage was so dark, even the yellow light of lamps wasn’t enough to see everything. He could hear the echo of his steps. He stopped in front of a thick iron door. It was so heavy so that he had to use much force to open it. But, there were two people in it, in the dim light they appeared to be identical shadows.
“Hi, Mr. President.”
The man sitting on the chair looked at him.
“Can you please leave me? I am here for more than many years. I am ready to give all my powers to you. A single sign would do that.”
“Oh Marine, my friend, I thought that you are truly genius. But, I was wrong, otherwise, you won’t say like this after these many years.”
“Then what are you doing with my dummy? Why do you need it?”
The man standing beside Lucifer walked towards Marine. He looks exactly like Marine. He sat in front of him.
“I am R792, don’t think that I am your dummy and he is using me.”
“Why? How can I believe you?”
That was a sharp question from Madrine. He could see that some metallic fluid was flowing through the body of the other one. His face looks like a skeleton made of metals, it was almost like a machine. Madrine was shocked for a moment.
“Who… Who are you? Tell me.”
“You have no authority to question me. I am just showing you who I am.”
There was a pause after that R792 continued.
“I am the commander of 70th Exploratory Space Fleet of Moragon.”
“Moragon?”
“It is our planet. Like your Earth. Do you remember Stephen Hawkins’s controversial statement about the possibility of a more advanced alien civilization?”
“Yeah.”
“But, Humans continued to send space crafts to the unknown worlds, that gave us a clue that we could find a civilization here. We captured the space crafts which went out of the solar system and used the communication system in it to infiltrate into your networks, humans were unable even to detect that.”
“Why did you do that?”
“We were searching for our missing cube.”
“What is that?” Madrine was looking at Lucifer.
“That was the finest piece of our technology. We can make unlimited energy out of it. Using a special rare element in the universe, and our technology.”
“Really?”
“Well, President, it produces anti-matter and when it combines with the fuel, which could be any form of matter, it would be directly converted into energy.”
This time explanation was given by the General. R792 continued.
“But, we lost that, that betrayer, who made that looted that cube and tried to escape. We managed to shoot down his ship. But, couldn’t find the cube in its fragments. Later we found that one of the projectiles was in the direction of the solar system, precisely to Earth.”
“Are you mad? We don’t know about anything like that.”
“No one knows about it. Do you remember about the Tunguska event on 30 June 1908? It was that cube along with its protective covering. When it was almost about to touch the surface the covering exploded, the high heat released melted the soil at that spot, and it sank into it.”
“Is it still there?”
“No, it was found by Russian researchers shortly after the event. They considered that it would be a formation of the melted elements. It was kept near Moscow without much protection. Later in WW2, Germans took that to Berlin and from there it was handed to a British agency.”
“I didn’t know about anything like this. Why are you telling all these to me?”
“For nothing, he won’t want to hide these things anymore from you.”
After a pause R792 continued.
“But, only one man, a student could find the real thing in that, that too after a century from that event. He could understand the danger if the cube went into the wrong hands. He dismantled the cube and kept it’s parts somewhere. Only he could find the parts and could make that cube once more.”
“Who is that? Why it is so special?”
“It is his friend George, The cube could give us unlimited power. It could do things like teleportation. We don’t want a war against Earth, just want that cube. I think you also don’t want that because there would be nothing on this planet after that.”
“President it is your time to take your decision to save our home planet. It is your chance to return the cube and to make an alliance with a powerful civilization in the universe. We will grant your freedom on that agreement.”
Lucifer was requesting in a low tone.
“Ok, what is the worst thing that could do?”
“It could annihilate the entire universe, the whole matter would be converted into energy.”
R792 said it so simply. But Madrine was in a shock. His head was moving almost mechanically as a sign of agreement. But, they didn’t notice the hidden meaning that was there in the General’s smile. He was almost celebrating his victory. They went along the lone passage, even the toughest truth was unable to cross the thick iron walls.
